Certainly all his sources were undeniable facts--they had all
came from the top military and government officials.
Nathan traveled back to that tragic day. He searched through all his
memories to see if he can find any answers to questions posed on the
websites. He search through his brain, but he could
not recall seeing airplane parts or any evidence that a Boeing 757
was the cause of the damage.
He was then reminded of Tory Whitfield, a woman he met
at one of the memorial services for the families who lost a
loved one at the Pentagon. A couple year ago, he had written an article on how
her husband was one of the unfortunate passengers on Flight 77.
He got out of bed and opened a cabinet drawer. He thumbed through
a massive rolodex of business card until he found Tory’s. He then looked
at the clock – just after midnight. Surely I can’t call her at this time
of night. But she did say I could call her at anytime for anything.
The dedicated journalist inside him would not let him rest until he got
to the bottom of this. He picked up the phone and dialed the number.
“Hello,” muttered the other line.
“Ms. Whitfield – sorry, did I awake you? This is Nathan Alexander – I’m
doing some research for the Pentagon and just needed to ask
you a quick question.”
“That’s fine.” Tory paused to sit upright in her bed and to come to
her full senses. “What is it you need to know.”
“Your husband – did you ever receive confirmation
that he was on that Flight 77.”
“Yes, one of you guys at the Pentagon called and
confirmed that they had found John’s body. They said
I wouldn't want to see the body, but the foresic scientist had confirmed
by DNA tests that the body was his. Why do you ask?”
“Oh, I was just making sure they contacted you.
Sorry for calling at a such a late hour, but it was
important that I checked to make sure you were
contacted.”
Nathan hung up the phone and thought about what this meant.
How could they find human DNA in that wreckage? If the impact of the crash
was so powerful that it completely vaporized an airplane,
wouldn’t all the passengers be vaporized as well?
The aircraft parts that were made out of near indestrible
material and they were nowhere to be found. But the delicate proteins
that make up DNA strands were still in tact? This just doesn’t add up.
Nathan tossed and turned as these thoughts flooded his mind.
But before he fell asleep, he convinced himself that the 9/11
Conspiracy Theories were just that--theories. There were
rational explanations that could counter all these questions running
around his head. There was no reason that these websites should
conflict with the information that was coming from the most powerful
institution in the world.
