False Flag terrorism is defined as an act of destruction that a nation or organization performs against itself, but the acts are designed to look as if they are carried out by other entities.

The name “false flag terrorism” derives from the practice of a side flying “false” colors, or waving a flag of another country, in order to deceive the enemy.

False Flag Terrorism has actually been quite common in the last century. The following are many well-known examples of false flag terrorism:

• The Reichstag Fire - an event that burned down a German Parliament building, was actually started by Nazi forces in order to increase Nazi authority.
• Gulf of Tonkin Incident – a maritime incident that is believed to never have happened. The event led to Lyndon Johnson to escalate American involvement in the Vietnam conflict.
• Bombing of Pearl Harbor – Having cracked the Japanese code, the U.S knew where and when the Japanese were planning to attack. However, the information was never relayed to Pearl Harbor in order to provoke a means for the U.S. to enter WWII.
• Operation Northwoods – a plot by the Pentagon and Joint Chief of staffs to perform several terrorist attacks within the U.S. and blame it on Cuba in order to invade the Communist nation. President John F. Kennedy rejected the plan before it was implemented.
